Decide On Height Of Baseboard – To make your baseboard stand out, go with a thick high baseboard paired with hardwood. If you want a subtle look, go with a standard height of 4 inches.
White Or Natural? – Currently, what is in style is white. There are those, however, who like the look of natural wood and would prefer that but know that it could date your home.
Doing Crown Molding? – If you decide to do crown molding make sure your crown is 1.5x higher than your baseboard.

Designing the nursery, however, can be a little difficult as most people decorate the nursery according to the gender of the baby. Designing a gender neutral nursery can be tricky but it can be done. Here are some tips on how to design a gender neutral nursery.

Choosing Wall Color For Your Nursery

This can be pretty easy as you will mostly like avoid blue, pink and purple. Some gender neutral colors to consider are: green, yellow, sage, beige, tan, white, and orange. If you stay in those color shades your nursery will exude a gender neutral quality. You can paint the entire nursery one color or go for an accent wall.

Trim Work In The Nursery

A great thing to do with your nursery is to add wainscoting, bead boarding or a chair rail on the walls. It adds a classic look, fit for a boy or a girl. Paint the trim work white and it will pop against a yellow, orange or green.

Gender Neutral Decorations

Decorate the nursery with wooden letters in different colors. These can be placed all around the top part of your walls. You can also add animal paintings such as giraffes, hippos, zebras and elephants. You can even do a Winnie The Pooh theme as this is very gender neutral.
For a more modern look, polka-dot art, line art or pattern work will look great in your nursery.
